Here are pictures from my friend CAP who recently flew back on SQ 637 from Narita to Singapore. Just like Osaka, Singapore Airlines recently introduced seasonal flight on A380 to and from Narita Airport. They used to fly the A380 on SQ11/SQ12 to Los Angeles (which has since been swapped to a Boeing 777-300ER).

After 2 flights on SQ 26, finally I get to try SQ 25. In the past, it was easier to redeem the Suites on SQ 26 but it seems to be the opposite now. Despite 2 devaluation, Suites on SQ 25 and SQ 26 remains elusive (except for Advantage tickets)!
The flight was previously operated using the All-Business class upper deck cabin but since June 1, it has been changed to the older A380 (with upper deck rear-economy section). Although this reduces the number of Business Class seats on this flight, the overall number of Business Class seats into and out of New York has increased with the reintroduction of SQ21/22 in October 2018.

Now, for the second part of the trip – the flight back from Melbourne. SQ 217 let her try a day time flight with the full service while SQ 218 allows her to try out the sleeping overnight in the Suites.
Total miles burnt was 160,000 miles per person for return (pre-January devaluation).
Melbourne is one of the location with a dedicated First Class Lounge. Here are some of the pictures:

My partner, AF recently traveled to Melbourne with her hubby on their maiden flight on SQ Suites. Being their first trip in Suites, they had lots of fun (not to mention food) even before they step foot onto the plane!
Here are some pictures from their flight:

I decided to put this up first as I felt that this review deserved the priority. I was initially booked on Business Class on both legs (SQ 618 and SQ 619) but 1.5 weeks out, Suites on the SQ 619 was still available and after some thoughts, I decided to make the plunge given the special nature of this trip (and giving in to my weak spot for Suites). I guess it was well worth it! What I experienced on this flight was a total contrast to my anniversary flight on SQ 308 last year.

26 October 2007, the historic flight of SQ380 – the inaugural of the world’s first double-decker plane. This was the day the Airbus A380 made its maiden flight with lots of publicity and fanfare. It was suppose to be the plane that will change how people travels in the future.
People from all over the world made bids to be the first to fly on this mighty beast, the plane that will overtake the Boeing 747 as the undisputed champion! For me back then, it was just another day and it happened that I watched the news from on-board Star Virgo where i was having a short holiday with my family.

This is my 5th Suites flight in 6 years, the first 2 being regional (SQ866 and SQ802) followed by 2 long hauls (both SQ26 in 2015 and 2017) and now SQ308.

SQ 26 (the journey continues…) – for Part 1(A) click here
We were met at door 1L by a ground staff who escorted us through the security checkpoint and transit area. The walk to the transit area is a little far (about 5 minutes) and we spent another 5 minutes going through a tight security check (similar to that done by TSA agents in USA). Out of the 12 pax, 3 of us continued on to JFK.
