Another friend of mine, ET recently flew on SQ 32 (San Francisco direct). Singapore Airlines operates 10 direct flights to San Francisco in a week (7 on SQ 32 and 3 on SQ 34) on top of the daily flight via Hong Kong on SQ 2.
Although the product is the same on the Business Class for all 3 flights, they operate on different planes. SQ 2 uses the 77WR with 48 J seats, SQ 32 uses the long haul A350 with 42 J seats and SQ 34 has the most J seats with 67 on the A350 ULR.
Personally I have no preference between SQ 32 and 34 (probably slight preference towards SQ 34 due to the lower overall plane density and a better flight timing) but I would prefer the direct flight over SQ 2 anytime.

Another pictorial review, this time from my friend CP who was recently in Bangkok for a conference and he flew back on SQ 979 in Business Class. Being on A330-300, he was on the old Business Class spotting the angled-flat seats in 2-2-2 configuration.

As a delegate part of a conference group enroute to BKK, I opted for a walk in upgrade on TG for S$185 to Business class from my Q category ticket so as to be able to review the TG lounge as well as the new A350-900 to BKK.
The Lounge is located in a quiet spot of Terminal One near the central immigration on level 3. There are a few lounges close by like the SATS (which is accessible via the Priority Pass card) and Qantas lounge.

Another friend recently made his maiden flight on Premium Class and what better way to do it on a Transpacific flight.
He was in San Diego for a conference and he managed to try the famed Delta One Business Class Suite (on the Narita to Seattle Segment) which was operated on their new A350-900.
On the way back, he was on a Korean Air Boeing 777-300ER with a very outdated 2-3-2 shell seat (oh, they still have such seats in Business Class nowadays?!)

Ever since the first time I step foot into Silverkris Lounge in 2012 (and The Private Room in 2013), it has been errr….. stuck in a time warp.
My first impression of the Business Class lounge back then was one of grandeur and opulence, with its luxurious marbled floor and walls. Together with the large food and beverage selection, it was the lounge I would love to be in back then.
Just as I thought that nothing can be better, my first experience in the First Class Lounge and The Private Room (TPR) changed my mind. The lounge within a lounge concept made TPR an exclusive sanctuary. The a la carte dining menu made the TPR even more special.

After 1.5 weeks in Texas and Panama, it was time for us to move on to our final stop – New York. Without any fifth freedom flights from Star Alliance, I am left with either Copa Airlines or United Airlines. While United Airlines had a slightly better timing, redeeming a ticket can be rather challenging. Copa Airlines on the other hand can be redeemed directly from the Krisflyer portal without any issue. Although there are 3 flights into JFK, neither is good and only CM 804 was available for redemption (for my travel date). The redemption cost is 30,000 miles per person in Business Class.

That Time of The Year 2019 (second edition) came and went and my body is still trying to adjust back to local timing. After the discontinuation of SQ67/68, SQ51/52 is now the longest route for Singapore Airlines. The Houston route was previously flown using a 777-300ER via Moscow (SIN-DME-IAH) but has since changed to an A350-900 (hence eliminating First Class on this route) and the layover stop is now in Manchester.
