This is the return segment of the flight I did back in February 2017. Since October 2016 I have been using return J ticket on MAS from KL as the price is exceptional at only SGD $200 return. Due to my recent trip, I had not book my return ticket and by the time I realized it, the promo Business Class ticket is no longer available. I decided to get a one way Malindo from KUL-SIN instead (which I will review later).
As MAS no longer maintain their own Golden Lounge in Singapore, you will be using SATS Premier Lounge in Terminal 2. For those taking a later flight, Qantas and British Airways lounge is available in Terminal 1 (but they open at 2pm). Qantas Business Lounge is definitely much better than SATS Premier Lounge.
SATS Premier Lounge is fairly spacious; it has a lounge area with a separate dining area. There are multiple PC Station and a calming massage chair corner not too far from the dining area. Food option for breakfast wasn’t bad. Both hot and cold items are available and the hot items include:
- Simple Dim Sum
- Congee
- Roti Canai
- Laksa
There is a salad station, bread and cup noodles are available too. Hot and cold beverages are included, including alcohol.
I would rate the lounge as decent. This lounge is accessible via Priority Pass, making this lounge an excellent lounge if you are entering using Priority Pass.
My flight to Kuala Lumpur has been reviewed before and is on the newer 737-800 with in seat entertainment system. These seats are generally much better than the Domestic Business class on Air Canada (which unfortunately I had to take for 5 hours from Montreal to Vancouver).
The business cabin was only half full, and the in flight snack served on this flight was my favorite Satay. MAS was able to maintain a good consistency on their satay (tender and juicy) and I have come to prefer MAS’ satay over Singapore Airline’s satay.
