Nope, no Seattle inaugural this year. Compared to 2018, I only clocked about 68,400 km this year. 2019 had been a very busy year at work but it lays the foundation for an exciting year in 2020!
Highlight of 2019 was still my American trip in June and trying out new airlines such as Air China, Copa and Thai Airways.
2019 saw the upcoming demise of the Airbus A380-800. Announced in February, Airbus is dropping the A380 in favor of the A350 series. We will still get to fly the A380 in the near future, but the end is coming sooner than later.
Qantas has also selected the A350-1000 for the project Sunrise , while the 737Max accidents were indeed unfortunate and it demonstrates the cost of corporate hubris.
Back to me in 2019, here are the highlights of my flights I have done this year:
Singapore to Osaka – One of my best experience on the Suites with a set of very warm and friendly crew with a private flight (almost) for my wife and I.
Central and North American trip – My long trip this year, getting to see for the first time the Panama Canal and after flying into JFK in Suites twice before, my first time to do the reverse leg. Also, managed to take Singapore Airlines’ longest route by total distance and try out new airlines in Air China and Copa.
Looking forward to 2020, where I will give North America a miss this year. Was contemplating the upcoming Brussels inaugural but after busting my mileage bank for my bucket list to Svalbard and the new Suites to Shanghai, I am out of miles.
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2020!
