The sad fate of the MH A380-800
This was written up earlier by BD during his flight back to ZRH from KUL via DOH. Finally I had a chance for me to try out this lounge. This is a different lounge from Plaza Premium Lounge which is a Priority Pass lounge (this is not). This lounge serves as a Business Class Lounge for Qatar Airways (and also 3 other airlines). The lounge is not very big but it is more than adequate as it handles only a handful of Business Class passengers.
The lounge is hidden in one corner of KLIA, and one needs to walk a fair bit upon alighting from the aerotrain. The buffet selection is fairly minimal, but it comes with cook to order ala carte items. Beverage selection is fairly average. The lounge do have a good view of the tarmac, hence one can enjoy the sight of planes while having their meal.
There are only 2 shower rooms here, but I would rate it better than those in MAS Golden Lounge. The water pressure is good and there was no water log from poor drainage (which was the case when I used the Golden Lounge back in 2013). The shower however is a little small.
I would rate this lounge as above average as it is quite cozy and not busy. Food selection is rather limited, made slightly better by the ala carte menu. For a bigger lounge, one can try the Golden Lounge (or the Cathay Lounge).
