We have slightly less than 3 weeks of 2018 left. 2018 has been a challenging and tiring year, but it is also the year that I traveled the most (in terms of distance). This is a summary of the places I visited this year:
Total Distance covered – about 82,400 km.
These were the flights I took in 2018:
a) SIN-LHR (10,892 km) – Singapore Airlines A380 Suites – certainly my favorite cabin, but unfortunately let down by the service (and my own illness)
b) LHR-MUC (945 km) – British Airways A320 Club Europe – a good way to make use of the Avios
c) MUC-SIN (10,065 km) – Singapore Airlines A350 Business Class – my first experience on the A350-900 XWB
d) SIN-BKK-SIN (2,818 km) – Singapore Airlines A330-300 and Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner Economy Class – First Singapore Airlines Dreamliner
e) SIN-BKK-HKG (3,098 km) – Cathay Pacific A330-300 Business Class – First time on Cathay Pacific and Changi Airport Terminal 4!
f) HKG-SIN (2,555 km) – Cathay Pacific A330-300 Business Class – another good value using Avios
g) SIN-WUH-SIN (6,866 km) – Silkair Boeing 737-800 Economy Class – the only direct option to Wuhan from Singapore
h) SIN-EWR (15,350 km) – Singapore Airlines A350-900ULR Premium Economy Class – 2018’s highlight! My first inaugural flight and the world’s longest direct flight!
i) EWR-SIN (15,350 km) – Singapore Airliness A350-900ULR Business Class – the return flight
j) SIN-WUH-SIN (6,866 km) – Silkair Boeing 737-800 Business Class – first Silkair Business Class
k) SIN-PVG-SIN (7,590 km) – A380 Economy Class – the back section of my favorite plane
I am certainly looking forward to my That Time of The Year 2019 edition, but beyond that I doubt I will fly as much as I did in 2018. I have decided to give Seattle inaugural a miss as it is using the regular A350-900. I have something planned in mid year with a short getaway in March, beyond that – it depends on my schedule.
