With our conference being held in Gardens Hotel itself, naturally the delegates were housed here. Due to the less than ideal timing of the flights (SQ 118 and SQ 119), we had only 8 hours in our rooms!
The Gardens hotel (part of the St. Giles Hotels) is connected to the Garden’s Mall and Midvalley Klang Valley – which is a large shopping center at the fringe of Kuala Lumpur. The mall itself offers lots of shopping and eateries. For those who want to explore further, walk a bit more to the KTM Komuter station (a local commuter line) and the KL Sentral station is just one stop away (for onward connection onto other systems such as KLIA express and KL subway).
The room I got was fairly large and clean, with a large king sized bed and the firm pillows are to my liking. The bathroom is large and spacious (with a wardrobe that is inside the bathroom). Amenities were provided but there was no complimentary coffee/tea in the room (although bottled water was provided).
Breakfast venue is located at level 6 and it has a big variety of local fares. There is even a cook to order roti canai (or prata) station and the Nasi Lemak was excellent! The International selections may be limited but when you are in Malaysia, eat local!
Lunch was catered in the same venue and again it is predominantly local buffet selection (not that I am complaining). The satay was probably my favorite!
