Credit Cards that offer renewal miles

Getting miles from credit cards in Singapore is not easy (compared to USA) but not exactly the hardest too.  There are many credit cards out there that offer miles from paying annual fee.

To those who are against paying annual fees, this option is not for you.  For those who don’t get enough miles for redemption on premium class, you probably should think twice before doing this.  For those who don’t mind paying annual fees, these are the credit cards that you can consider:

1. Citibank Prestige (one of my favorite card)

25,000 miles for $535 annual fee

works out to 2.14 cents per mile

2. Citibank Premier Miles Visa

10,000 miles for $192.60 annual fee

works out to 1.93 cents per mile

3. Citibank Prmier Miles Amex

15,000 miles for $267.50 annual fee

works out to 1.78 cents per mile

4. DBS Altitude Visa/Amex

10,000 miles for $192.60 annual fee

works out to 1.93 cents per mile

5. ANZ Travel Card (Previously my most preferred card)

10,000 miles for $200 annual fee (previously 12,000 miles)

works out to 2 cent per mile

6. UOB Privi Miles (Amex/Visa/Master)

8,000 miles for $256 sign on fee (no renewal miles, previous offer was 15,000 miles)

works out to be 3.2 cents per mile

7. HSBC Visa Infinite

30,000 miles for $488 sign on fee (renewal miles may or may not be given, with luck you may get 45,000 miles)

works out to be 1.63 cents per mile (1.08 cents per mile if you can get 45,000 miles)

8. Standard Chartered Visa Infinite

10,000 miles for $321 sign on fee (no renewal miles)

works out to be 3.21 cents per mile

9. American Express Reserve Platinum

50,000 MR (equivalent to 27,777 miles) for $5000 spent in first 3 months and after paying $535 annual fee (no renewal miles)

You will get between 31,900 to 45,500 miles depending on which merchant you spend on (best to spend all $5000 with a 10X merchant)

works out to be 12.16 cents per mile to 17.35 cents per mile

10. OCBC Voyage

15,000 Voyage Miles (equivalent to 15,000 miles) for $488 sign on fee (unsure if they will be offering renewal miles – too new)

works out to be 3.25 cents per mile

In general, I value KF my KF miles at about 2 to 3 Singapore cents per mile. I will usually ignore cashback (unless it is > 5%).
