    I positioned myself to Bangkok with the aim of trying out Emirates A380 First Class to Hong Kong on their fifth freedom route but alas, the price shot up before I could make the plunge.

    With a few options, I decided on Thai Airways by virtue of them being a Star Alliance partner.
