Intercontinental Park Lane no longer has executive room that includes lounge access. Only the top tier suites come with complimentary access. For others, access cost 185 GBP per night (155 GBP for Ambassador member) and it must be across the entire stay. Other benefits accorded as a IHG Platinum member include a welcome drink and 15 GBP dining credit.
The Room
The room is quite spacious even for 2 person, with ample of space. Unlike my previous stay where the room was quite dim, the Mayfair Classic room was very bright. I had a work desk and an arm chair in the room. A Nespresso machine was available with complimentary bottled water.
The bathroom was small but adequate. The water pressure from the shower was strong and the water was adequately heated. Amenities were provided but somehow, toothbrush was not provided and I had to ask for it.
The bed was comfortable to sleep in but the pillow was a little too soft for my liking. I ended up stacking 2 pillows for better support.

The Lounge
The highlight of the hotel is still the lounge at level 7. It has a double height glass window overlooking the Marble Arch and London City.

With opening hours from 630am – 1030pm, it provides a sanctuary for those who want to have a peaceful and quiet environment to relax or catch up with their work.
Besides all day beverage, the lounge also provides
- Breakfast (from 630am to 1030am)
- Afternoon Tea (from 230pm to 4pm)
- Evening Canapes (from 530pm to 7pm)
The lounge has an extensive breakfast menu which once again due to my dietary limitation, I can only try some of it. Besides cooked-to-order items, they have a small buffet section as well.

Here is the breakfast menu and some of the food which I ordered.

I was able to utilize the lounge the moment I checked in hence I was able to have my breakfast in the lounge on arrival.
The afternoon tea comes as a set which include English scones with jam and clotted cream, and a mixture of sweet and savory items.

Evening canapes are available as buffet options with alcoholic beverages available
Overall, I would describe the food in lounge as decent and the staff are friendly but not overtly (which suits me).

The Gym
During my last visit in 2018, I did not utilize the gym and on this stay, it is the opposite. I visited the gym daily for 3 days! It was quite well equipped with both cardio and resistance machines including an extensive set of free weights and an assisted barbell for bench press and squats.
Towel and bottled water are available (which I use it as my water top up point).
There isn’t any sauna/steam room in the gym and there isn’t any swimming pool.

The Food
As my stay was short, I was disinclined to travel far and I decided to utilize my 15 GBP dining credit at the Arch Bar.
Decided to try their Fish and Chips (sans salt for the chips). Food was ok, nothing great but I was not expecting much from it. Just wanted something to eat without the need to walk out.

Final Words
Overall, the stay was pleasant but expensive. I initially intended to stay at the Intercontinental O2 but decided to change it last minute. The stay was made cheaper with my Weekend Certificate and I decided to splurge a little to try out the Club Intercontinental given that I will be spending most of my time in the hotel. The lounge was good and it would have been better if it was included in the Suite (which I would have booked if it comes included) but at 155/185 GBP extra, I probably would think 10x on normal days before paying for it.
